Encouraging words of wisdom

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres...

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.

But the greatest of these is love.”

My prayer

Lord I pray for a solution
When the problem isn’t clear
I ask then for answers, guidance, and direction
I seek now peace and calm
For my troubled soul is weary
I know in my heart that you will be my guide
Direct my hands and lead me O’ Lord I pray

I was remembering the day my daughter was born and how very fragile I thought she was.  I remember it vividly because that was the day I gave birth to a little human being that I was fully responsible for and it was my job to protect.  A few days ago I was watching the news and a mother put her seven pound newborn baby, a girl, into a white plastic bag and left her precious little girl out in the woods next to her house (http://fox10tv.com/2014/03/01/mom-arrested-in-death-of-newborn-baby).   It’s very hard to think of a mother doing this to her child.  That child didn’t have a name, will never have a future, and she will only be remembered for her past.  It’s crazy to imagine but to her mother she didn’t have value.
Today on the news a seven year old boy was shot in the head and rushed to the hospital.  That child had a name, “J’Duan,” a family that loved him, a past, but he will never have a future (http://www.wkrg.com/story/24893132/7-year-old-shot-in-mobile).  His mother will wake up tomorrow thinking of his voice, his laughter, his smell, his clothes, his toys, and his seat at the table, that empty seat.  I cannot imagine this pain but we live as though nothing has changed because for us life goes on.  Right now the State of Alabama is trying to push a bill that will allow more guns on the streets; possibly resulting in more lives lost.
We hear about these events on the news yet we remain unfazed by them or so removed from them that we no longer care.  A child was murdered by her mother and a child was shot in the head, possibly self-inflicted, and we stand unfazed because it happens so much.  We hear these stories now and the sock factor doesn’t really reach us; something is really wrong with this!  Have we devalued life so much that it’s so easy to discard it like trash, are we so far gone that we can’t cry out for justice when we believe that something is unjust?

Putting more guns on the streets won’t cure what’s ailing this Country; changing people’s attitude about life will.  Every life has value and no one man is more important than the other.  We have to teach this to our children so they can in turn teach it to their children.  If we make small changes now it will make a big difference latter on in life; every life has value.

You Got Dumped by Philessa Hooks Jenkins aka Lady PJ

You Got Dumped

Okay, you got dumped by your boyfriend or girlfriend and you feel lost; now what?  I say, it’s time to just love you and heal.  Heartbreak can be so hard to handle and it really does take a lot out of you; so mourn for a little while and then pick yourself up.
How do you pick yourself up? It’s different for everyone. For instance I like to laugh so I usually watch some comedy; that always works for me.  You could throw darts at his or her picture but that would only fuel your flame and build hatred; unless you do it to vent.  It’s like a release then.  The worst thing you could do is keep calling them, or keep going to see them.  I know it hurts but you only look like a lost puppy that nobody wants.  Do you really want to have this kind of image?
I tell you what you can do, how about writing a goodbye letter to them with all the things they did to you then burning it. It would be like a release party where you’re the only attendant. Hey, you think following them around is better; that makes you the stalker guy or gal.  Yes, you’re now at a different level of pathetic. You got dumped and if you don’t stop following them you could be charged with stalking even cyber stalking.
While I do understand that you’re hurting you have to understand that you can’t stay there.  You have to get up and live; life goes on. Although, I don’t suggest that you find a new partner yet. You really should take some time for you.  I like to be pampered; so go get your nails done, your hair done, and buy a new outfit or two.  I’m a shoe shopper and yes I have a lot of shoes. Laugh Out Loud! I am the “pick-me-up Queen, Honey!” Pick me up another pair of shoes; sometimes I just make up a reason to go shoe shopping. Enough about me let me get back to the topic!
Let me just say that in time all sorrow heals or subsides.  You eventually have to realize that this relationship is gone but in time you’ll find a new love; that hopefully will admire and adore you. For now just be yourself, enjoy your life, and appreciate the things you have; like no more drama. I’m your girl, Lady PJ, much love to you all.

"Don't play with my heart"

Don't play with my heart!

If I open up my heart to you and I say come in; don't play with my heart.  Ladies you feelin me?  We as woman are like open doors; sometimes we open the door all the way and other times it's just cracked open.  I tend to be quite the "just cracked open type."  Yeah, well I'm overly cautious.
A lot of my friends are givers; meaning they give all the way (the door is open all the way from the start).  They also tend to be the most hurt when things go awry.  You have to be very careful with givers because you never know how it's going to turn out because in the end they might be the hardest to get rid of.  You know the "I bust the window out your car" type.  Laugh out loud!

I'm going to say it out loud men and I hope you hear it "don't play with my heart!"  I feel that if you're going to be out there with all types of woman doing this and that then just tell me in the begining that you can't be faithful.  Right, woman?  Hello, just say that your a manwhore.  Yes, be honest for a chance.  It's the new millenium for goodness sakes, some woman are more understanding and they might want to play with you.  I of course am not that type.  I'm very selfish.  I expect my man to be completely about me and nobody else.

Life is too short to live with a cheater that doesn't respect you or respect himself.  Why hold on to someone like this; just let go and let him be with somebody else or be somebody else's problem. Don't let him "play with your heart."  This is your girl, Lady PJ, enjoying life and loving it.
